George F Roberson – writer and producer. His first feature, JOSHUA TREE (2014) is on the crisis of the US American dream. His second feature, JOSE (2018), is on love, loss, family, power and hope – set in Guatemala, one of the world’s most dangerous and impoverished countries – it premiered at the 75th Venice Film Festival and won Queer Lion. A broadly trained and experienced academic and advocate, Roberson was Fulbright Scholar to Morocco, holds a PhD from the university of Massachusetts – Amherst, has lived and worked in over sixty countries as an urbanist and once hitch-hiked across the Sahara desert for a good taste of the rural. Since 2015, he “ s served on the Jury of Cyprus International Film Festival and Bridges International Film Festival (Greece). Through his cooperative media NGO, Collaborative Media International, he develops a variety of socially informed initiatives focused of sites of confrontation and contestation. A USA citizen, his divided his time between Mexico City and Sao Paulo, Brazil.
